TV Guide TMAS Interview with Paul & Danielle

Tell Me a Story is switching things up in Season 2 with new fairy tales and an entirely different location. Kevin Williamson‘s grim series heads to Nashville, where it will take on the iconic stories of Beauty and the BeastSleeping Beauty, and Cinderella. According to stars Paul Wesley and Danielle Campbell, who return to the CBS All Access show in new roles, Season 2 will be even darker than the first.

“It’s quite extreme,” Wesley teased to TV Guide earlier this year during the Television Critics Association’s summer press tour. “Not every fairy tale has a happy ending,” Campbell added ominously.

The upcoming installment centers on three siblings who are each tied to a different fairy tale, but whose stories will also interconnect as the season progresses. Wesley, who confirmed that his storyline is inspired by Beauty and the Beast, is set to play Tucker, a novelist with a lovely fiancée, who seems fine on the outside but who we’ll come to find has something off about him.

Meanwhile, Campbell will take on the role of Olivia, an intelligent and strong-willed woman who ditches her boyfriend and small Oklahoma town to pursue a master’s degree in Nashville. “She is about to embark on a journey she was not prepared for,” Campbell said of her character.
