It has been announced that Paul will be in a new “Colt Coeur” play titled “Zurich” that starts April 14 and Ends May 5th with the Opening Night being April 17th. The play is written by Amelia Roper and directed by Adrienne Campbell-Holt who also directed Paul in “Cal in Camo” in the summer of 2016.
This spring, Colt Coeur will present the world premiere of Amelia Roper’s Zürich as part of the company’s 2017–2018 season and New York Theatre Workshop’s NEXT DOOR Series. The new play, in which hotel guests enjoy the last moments of their private, awkward, funny and not-so-funny lives, grapples with issues of nationalism, tourism, isolation, class and gender expectations.
Colt Coeur’s artistic director Adrienne Campbell-Holt will direct the debut production, set to begin performances April 14 at The Fourth Street Theatre. Opening night is April 17 for a run scheduled through May 5.
Zürich will star an ensemble cast that includes Samantha Blair Cutler (Dear Evan Hansen), Sami Molly Bray, Gregory Diaz IV, Carolyn Holding, Lynne Lipton (How to Live on Earth), Austin Smith (Hamilton, An Octoroon), Matthew Stadelmann (Colt Coeur’s Dry Land), Juliana Canfield, Renata Friedman, and Paul Wesley (Vampire Diaries, Cal in Camo).
A short description of the play has been released:
Funerals are for the living. What happened, why, who did it and how — none of that matters in the moments before. Zürich is a play about the moments before, as hotel guests enjoy the last moments of their private, awkward, funny and not-so-funny lives. A series of two-handers, strangers struggle with nationalism, tourism, social responsibility, isolation, class and gender expectations. In a time of global crisis, what does neutrality mean for a country full of banks? For any of us?
