A leading brand in the beauty industry is still testing on animals! I thought this was a thing of the past but surprisingly a lot of big name companies are still doing this. It is time for L’Oreal and all the other companies to stop testing on animals.
Because They’re Worth It
The #BeCrueltyFree campaign has now issued a public cry urging L’Oréal to stop testing on animals. Animal advocates are trying to ban cosmetic testing worldwide. Currently more than 200 companies in the cosmetic industry have put their support behind the campaign to end testing! L’Oréal has been very quiet with the accusations regarding animal testing, but they have come forward to say that they no longer test on animals. As the Humane Society article states, L’Oréal still continues to sell its products in China, where “animal testing is required for many cosmetic products”. The Humane Society is urging L’Oréal to stand up and be a leader to work at passing laws that will end the suffering and even death of at least half-a-million rabbits, mice, rats, and guinea pigs each year. Research has been proven that even cats and dogs are not safe – they are also tested on.
Beauty Without Bunnies!
I was astounded to find out that even some products that I use are still testing on animals. Just to name a few; Estee Lauder, Avon, Clinique, Maybelline, Mary Kay, NARS, OPI, and Victoria’s Secret pay for tests on animals in China. Although this may seem like the only companies that anyone uses (because they are the biggest brands in cosmetics) that does not mean we are without hope for our animals! I personally have started slowing switching to a brand that I love, it is called E.L.F. Check out this site to learn more about cruelty free companies and to support compassionate and cruelty-free products. All it takes is one person to inform another about these companies and a little bit of social media sharing and hopefully some light will be shed on these cruel acts.
