Fan Friday ~ Amanda Shares What She Likes About Paul & Meeting Him

Thanks Amanda for sharing what you like about Paul and your experience meeting him and Candice!

I’ve wanted to write this for awhile but haven’t because it’s hard to find words to explain how much Paul Wesley means to me. Paul is basically everything you could possibly hope for in a person you idolize. There are so many things I love about him. It started out just admiring his skills as an actor and how he could make me feel emotions on television, but ever since I got to know more about Paul, the more I fell in love with him as just another human being who is humble, kind, down to earth family man with a straight moral compass. His witty, dry sense of humor makes me smile and laugh on my worst days – whenever I’m feeling down, I just have to watch videos of him on YouTube and I try to follow his lead in living a laid back, non-stressful lifestyle as I’ve suffered from major anxiety all my life.

There is a feeling you get when you’re around Paul that is hard to explain but I know that every PDubber knows what I’m talking about. He puts you at ease and makes you feel relaxed. When I first met him, I remember just being in total and complete awe of him in the photo op room joking and laughing with his co-star. I met him with Candice King so it helped to break the ice as I was extremely nervous, never having even met someone famous before let alone an actor I admired as much as Paul. By the time of my solo photo with him, I don’t know how I managed to walk up to him and manage to get words out, but I did and he was the sweetest to me and I will never forget it. I walked away not knowing how I had even been nervous about meeting him in the first place.

For the next convention in NJ 2017 I got his meet and greet, which was the most amazing experience ever. I remember being surprised at how much I spoke, assuming I would only say one thing maybe and that would have been a big enough deal for me, but when he walked into the room and started talking to us, it just felt perfectly natural to join in on the conversation. There is nothing fake about Paul. You don’t get the vibe that he is putting on a show for his fans. What you see is what you get, and the fact that he takes the time out of his day to meet with and take pictures with us fans means so much.

So thank you to Paul for being who you are. I’m so grateful I got to meet him twice and had the experience of talking to him and being allowed into a small sliver of his world. He continues to inspire me with his projects, and I’m so proud and thrilled that I get to continue to follow him on this new chapter of his career.

Already counting down the days until I get to see him again in 2018.  ❤
